GSTR-2B reconciliation

Upload GSTR-2B and your purchase register: see which invoices match, which differ and which input tax credit is at risk.

Choose the two files

MarqPDF pairs invoices by the supplier's GSTIN and the invoice number, however the number is written (CC/981, CC-981 and 000CC981 all match), then compares the taxable value, IGST, CGST, SGST and cess within a tolerance you choose. Invoices that still don't pair are tried on the number's digits, and on date and tax, and listed separately for you to check.

What you upload

GSTR-2B as the JSON or Excel you download from the GST portal (Returns, then GSTR-2B), and your purchase register as Excel or CSV with a GSTIN column and an invoice-number column. Exports from Tally, Busy, Zoho Books or a spreadsheet all work.

What you get

A workbook with a summary, the matched invoices, the ones whose amounts differ, invoices in your books but not in 2B (input tax credit at risk: chase those suppliers to file GSTR-1), invoices in 2B but not in your books, probable matches, and input tax credit supplier by supplier.

ITC not available

Invoices that GSTR-2B marks as ITC not available are counted separately, with the portal's reason, because that credit can't be claimed whatever your books say.

Frequently asked questions

Which GSTR-2B file do I need?

Either one the GST portal gives you: the JSON download or the Excel. Credit and debit notes in the JSON are included, credit notes as negative amounts.

What if invoice numbers are written differently?

Slashes, dashes, spaces, case and leading zeros are ignored when matching, and an invoice that still doesn't match is tried on its digits and on date and tax, shown as a probable match.

Is it free?

Checking is free and the report shows on screen. Downloading the spreadsheet needs a free account, which includes 2 exports; after that, a Week Pass ($6.99) or Pro ($14.99 a month), see pricing.
